A downloadable game for Windows

    Simple 1v1 shooting game. Everything except the UI elements was made by me.

    The initial concept was to make a shooting game where the person with less health was just as likely to win in a vacuum as the person with more. But the simple trade-off of health for speed by itself made the game a bit too quick, and didn't let the players experience the sort of strategic interplay I wanted to encourage, so I included a shield.


    The shield by itself didn't recharge, because while that would've slowed the game down, it would've slowed it down too much. Instead, there are two  recharge stations, one for each player, which are large and easy to destroy, encouraging more defensive play, and creating a tangible risk/reward structure for players when choosing how to play.


    On top of this, to insure the players didn't just sit on their recharge stations to tank shots, there's an overcharge mechanic. Basically, if you're shield's grown too large from the recharge station, it will take extreme damage from your own shots, and shrink to significantly below the overcharge threshold. This means playing too defensively will soft-lock you from dealing any damage to your opponent, and give your opponent an advantage over you in combat.
